▒ 경구를 의미하는 맺음말 사용

경구라 하여 편지를 쓰고 있는 마음이 어떠한지를 나타내 준다. 본문을 다 쓰고 난 후 2-3줄의 공간을 두고 행의 가운데쯤부터 대문자로 쓰기 시작하여 마지막에는 콤마(,)를 붙여 준다.
맺음말은 편지의 종류나 수취인과의 친밀도에 따라 그 사용을 구분해야 한다.
어느 것을 사용하는 것이 좋을지 잘 알 수 없을 경우에는 상대방이 쓰는 맺음말을 쓰면 문제가 없다. 일반적으로 길게 할수록 정중한 느낌을 준다.

◎ 손 윗사람에게 : Faithfully yours

◎ 사교, 사무적인 사람에게 : Yours truly

◎ 감사의 표시를 할 때 : Gratefully yours

<친구 사이의 맺음말>

[여자의 경우]

[남자의 경우]
◎ 행운을 빌며 : Best wishes

4. 기타

▒ 추신(P.S. - Postscript)
빠뜨리고 쓰지 못한 것이나 짧게 덧붙이고 싶은 것이 있으면 서명란 뒤에 몇줄을 두어 왼쪽 끝에서부터 P.S.(Postscript)로 첨가할 수 있다. 그렇지만 어디까지나 추가로 덧붙이는 말이기 때문에 간결해야 한다. 
ex.) P.S. 내 사진 넣었어. : P.S. I enclose a picture of myself.

▒ 서명(SIGNING) 친필로 서명을 한다
여성의 경우에는 Miss/Mrs./Ms.등의 구별을 상대방에게 알려주고 싶을 경우에는 활자체로 쓴 이름 앞에 괄호로 묶어 넣어 준다.
서로 아는 사이라면 First mane으로만 서명해도 괜찮다.
